My work...
Real aquariums. Real transformations.
From neglected tanks and algae problems to complete resets, aquascaping, upgrades, and custom setups, every aquarium has different needs. My goal is to create a healthy, beautiful system that works for both the fish and the people who enjoy them.
Take a look at some of my recent aquarium transformations and custom designs below.

Unique Aquarium Rescue & Complete Reset
This one-of-a-kind aquarium needed much more than a basic cleaning. Poor water quality, heavy buildup, and an unhealthy aquarium environment called for a complete reset.
I thoroughly cleaned the aquarium, removed accumulated waste and buildup, refreshed the substrate with a sand and gravel combination, reworked the filtration and aeration, and added natural driftwood and plants to create a cleaner, healthier, more attractive environment.
The result: clear water, improved circulation and filtration, and a completely refreshed aquarium ready for its next chapter.
Even unusual aquarium designs can thrive with the right setup and care. 🐠🌿

75-Gallon Aquarium Revival
This 75-gallon aquarium had been sitting abandoned for years. After a complete cleanup, equipment overhaul, and fresh setup, it was brought back to life as a colorful community aquarium.
Today it's home to guppies, platies, GloFish tetras, a pleco, and snails ...quite a change from the forgotten tank it started as!
From abandoned to thriving. 💚🐟

Aquarium Rescue & Redesign
This aquarium had become heavily overgrown with algae and snails, with the tank’s location near a window contributing to the problem.
After relocating it away from the direct sunlight, I gave it a deep cleaning and complete aquascape redesign, opening up the swimming space and rebuilding the layout with driftwood, stone, fresh substrate and plants.
A great example of how sometimes fixing an aquarium isn’t just about cleaning itit’s about figuring out what caused the problem and changing the setup so it stays healthier afterward. 🌿🐟

125-Gallon Aquarium Move & Redesign
This 125-gallon aquarium was completely broken down and relocated, with the fish safely transferred during the move.
Once in its new home, the tank was rebuilt and completely redesigned, with a brighter, more open aquascape, reorganized hardscape and décor, and improved use of the full swimming space.
The existing fish got their familiar home back — just with a whole new look.
Same aquarium. New location. Complete transformation. 🐟✨

Natural-Style Community Aquarium Makeover
This aquarium received a complete makeover to create a more natural, balanced look while still keeping some fun pops of color.
I added driftwood, natural-colored sand and gravel, and live plants, then mixed in a few artificial plants for extra color and texture.
Home to Buenos Aires tetras, the new layout provides plenty of open swimming room while giving the fish structure and cover to explore.
A little more nature. A lot more character. 🌿🐟

Goldfish Aquarium Algae & Filtration Overhaul
This aquarium was home to two fancy goldfish but was struggling with a major algae problem and a filtration system that wasn't keeping up with their waste load.
The tank received a deep service along with an upgraded filtration system using my own customized filter design, built to provide better mechanical and biological filtration for messy goldfish.
The result: clearer water, improved filtration, and a much cleaner environment for the fish.
Better filtration. Clearer water. Happier goldfish. 🐠💦

Overgrown Aquarium Rescue
This aquarium had become completely overtaken by moss that started from a moss ball and spread throughout the tank, covering nearly the entire bottom.
The overgrowth was removed, the aquarium was thoroughly cleaned, and the layout was rebuilt using natural driftwood and a variety of live plants to create a healthier, more intentional planted environment.
Instead of one plant taking over the entire aquarium, the tank now has structure, open swimming space, and a beautiful mix of greenery.
From moss jungle to planted aquarium. 🌿🐟

Complete Aquarium Reset
This aquarium was struggling with heavy algae, overfeeding, and a large buildup of waste trapped deep in the gravel. The water quality and overall condition of the tank had deteriorated significantly.
I performed a complete deep cleaning and reset, removing the accumulated waste, thoroughly cleaning the substrate and aquarium, and rebuilding the setup to give the fish a much cleaner, healthier environment.
The difference in the water alone says it all. 💚🐟
Sometimes an aquarium doesn't need another quick water change. It needs a reset.

Blue-Green Algae & Lighting Makeover
A new LED light left on all day created the perfect conditions for a major blue-green algae problem. The tank also needed better circulation to help eliminate areas where debris and algae could settle.
I removed the algae, put the lighting on a controlled schedule, and redesigned the aquascape to improve water flow throughout the tank while keeping the established look.
The result is a cleaner, healthier aquarium that's also much easier to maintain long-term.
More light isn't always better. Sometimes the best aquarium upgrade is simply controlling it. 💡🐟🌿

225-Gallon Emergency Rescue
This 225-gallon aquarium was in serious trouble after falling behind on maintenance. The water was extremely cloudy with a sewer-like odor, waste had accumulated throughout the system, and fish were already dying.
This wasn't just an aquarium makeover. It was a rescue.
I performed extensive cleaning and water changes, removed accumulated waste, addressed the filtration and water-quality issues, and worked to stabilize the aquarium without completely destroying the biological cycle.
And I saved it. ❤️🐟
From fish dying in foul, cloudy water to a clean, stable 225-gallon display. Sometimes maintenance isn't about making a tank prettier. It's about saving the ecosystem.

Durham Bar Aquarium Rescue
This unique globe aquarium had become completely overwhelmed with floating plant growth. The surface was so covered that water circulation and gas exchange were severely restricted, and fish were beginning to die.
I removed the excess growth, cleaned and reworked the aquarium, restored proper circulation, and redesigned the aquascape while keeping that lush planted look.
Today it's clear, healthy, and thriving as a planted community with shrimp, tetras, and a betta. 🦐🐟🌿
Same aquarium. Completely different ecosystem.

Overgrown Planted Tank Makeover
This aquarium had become so overgrown that the fish were running out of open swimming space. The plants had taken over the tank, restricting flow and turning what should have been a planted community aquarium into a jungle.
I heavily thinned and trimmed the plants, cleaned the tank, opened up the aquascape, and repositioned the remaining plants to keep the lush planted look without sacrificing usable space.
Now the fish have room to actually swim, water can circulate properly, and the plants still provide plenty of natural cover. 🌿🐟
A planted tank should be a habitat for the fish ...not an obstacle course. 😂

Deep Cleaning & Fresh Aquascape
This aquarium was ready for more than routine maintenance, so I gave it a thorough deep cleaning and a fresh aquascape.
The substrate was cleaned, accumulated waste removed, and the entire layout redesigned with sand, gravel, plants, driftwood, and décor to create defined areas while leaving plenty of open swimming space.
The result is a cleaner, brighter, more balanced aquarium that's easier to maintain and gives the fish a much more interesting environment to explore. 🐟🌿
A deep clean can fix the tank. A new aquascape can make you fall in love with it again.

Aquarium Upgrade & Makeover
This aquarium had fallen behind on maintenance and was struggling with heavy algae growth and poor water quality. Instead of simply cleaning the existing setup, we gave the fish a major upgrade...moving them from a 10-gallon to a 20-gallon tall.
The new aquarium was completely redesigned with fresh substrate, driftwood, live plants, improved filtration and better water circulation, creating a cleaner, healthier environment with much more room for the fish.
From an algae-covered 10 gallon to a thriving 20 gallon planted aquarium. 🌿🐟

55-Gallon Planted Community Aquarium
A custom-designed 55-gallon freshwater community aquarium created to combine natural beauty with plenty of functional space for the fish.
I used natural driftwood, live plants, stone, and varied textures to create multiple levels of cover and interest while still maintaining open swimming areas. The aquascape was designed around the needs of a mixed community, with hiding places near the bottom, planted areas throughout, and open water for active schooling fish.
I also love the pothos growing from the top — the roots become part of the aquarium ecosystem while the foliage adds another layer to the overall design. 🌿🐟

20-Gallon Long Shrimp & Tetra Community
A custom-designed 20-gallon long planted aquarium built for tetras, freshwater shrimp, and snails.
The longer footprint is perfect for creating distinct little areas while still leaving plenty of swimming room. I used natural driftwood, stone, live plants, sand, and gravel to provide cover and grazing areas for the shrimp and snails while keeping open water for the tetras.
The mix of textures gives this smaller aquarium a lot of depth without making it feel crowded. 🌿🦐🐌🐟
You don't need a huge aquarium to create a beautiful little ecosystem.

20-Gallon Long Black Skirt Tetra Aquarium
A simple, natural 20-gallon long community setup designed for black skirt tetras.
The longer footprint gives these active fish plenty of horizontal swimming room, while live plants, natural gravel, and décor provide cover and structure without overcrowding the tank.
I kept this design intentionally open and easy to maintain — a good example of how an aquarium doesn't have to be heavily aquascaped to be attractive and functional. 🌿🐟
Sometimes simple is exactly what the fish need.

Planted Community Aquarium
A lush, natural planted aquarium designed around a celestial pearl gourami, with shrimp, snails, kuhli loaches, lemon tetras, and galaxy rasboras.
Layered live plants, driftwood, stone, and sand create plenty of cover and hiding spaces while still leaving swimming room throughout the tank. The dense planting also gives the shrimp and kuhli loaches lots of protected areas to explore.
This is one of my favorite styles to design...natural, a little wild, and full of life. 🌿🐟🦐

Custom Aquarium Installation
A custom two-aquarium setup designed to turn a finished garage into a relaxing living space.
The matching tanks and cabinetry create one large focal point, while each aquarium has its own layout and personality. Designed with lighting, filtration, aquascaping, fish needs, and the surrounding space all in mind.
